    Eastbourne Borough Council are undertaking a public consultation on the level of housing and employment growth that could be accommodated in Eastbourne and where it might be located, in order to inform the next stage in the preparation of the Local Plan. The consultation commences on Friday 11th November 2022, and closes at 5pm on Friday 20th January 2023.

  • Avatar Eastbourne Land Availability Assessment - Call for Sites and Methodology Consultation

    The Land Availability Assessment (LAA) previously known as the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) is an evidence document that identifies and assesses potential sites to support future development. This 'Call for Sites' invites submissions of sites for consideration and assessment in the LAA. As well as sites for housing and employment uses, we are seeking submission of sites with potential for other uses such as renewable energy generation and green infrastructure. We are also inviting comments on the Methodology for undertaking the LAA, including the criteria against which sites will be assessed.

  • Avatar Lewes District CIL Expression of Interest Round 2022

    The Community Infrastructure Levy is open yearly for Infrastructure Providers to Bid for funds. This Expression of Interest Round is to allow providers to send in basic details for their project which are then assessed to determine they meet regulatory requirements. If the project does meet they requirements of the CIL Regulations they are then invited to make a full Bid for funds from the Strategic, Local, Community or Small Community Projects Pots.

  • Avatar Lewes District Local Plan - Issues and Options

    Lewes District Council is preparing a new Local Plan which will cover that part of the district outside of the South Downs National Park. We published an ‘Issues & Options’ document for public consultation from 9 July to 3 September 2021. This consultation has closed and we are publishing in full the comments alongside a short summary report.

    The Land Availability Assessment (LAA) previously known as the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) is a detailed document that identifies and assesses land to support future development. As part of the LAA 2020 as well as sites for housing and employment uses, we are seeking submission of sites with potential for renewable energy generation and green infrastructure. If you wish to submit a site to be considered in the Lewes Land Availability Assessment (LAA), please respond to the online questionnaire, and upload an appropriately scaled map clearly identifying the site.

    This consultation is for Infrastructure Providers to express an interest in the desire to bid to Lewes District Council Community Infrastructure Levy for contributions funds collected from development in it's area outside of the South Downs National Park Authority.
