  • Lewes District Council - Land Availability Assessment (LAA)

    The Land Availability Assessment (LAA) previously known as the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) is a detailed document that identifies and assesses land to support future development. As part of the LAA 2020 as well as sites for housing and employment uses, we are seeking submission of sites with potential for renewable energy generation and green infrastructure. If you wish to submit a site to be considered in the Lewes Land Availability Assessment (LAA), please respond to the online questionnaire, and upload an appropriately scaled map clearly identifying the site.

  • Avatar Eastbourne's Direction of Travel: Issues and Options for the Eastbourne Local Plan

    A new Local Plan for Eastbourne is currently in preparation. This new Plan will look ahead to 2038 and will be the key planning document that will shape, plan and manage growth, regeneration and development across the Borough, based on a vision of what we want Eastbourne to be like in 20 years’ time. As part of this preparation, the local community and other stakeholders are being asked their views on the issues that Eastbourne experiences and how these issues can be addressed in the future. The public consultation on the first stage of preparing the new Local Plan will begin on 1st November 2019 and run until 24th January 2020.

  • Avatar Lewes District Local Plan Part 2: Site Allocations and Development Management Policies Main Modifications

    Local Plan Part 2 identifies and allocates sites to meet development growth identified in Local Plan Part 1 and sets out detailed (non-strategic) development management policies to guide development and change. Following the Examination Hearings in April, the Planning Inspector has recommended a number of Main Modifications to the Plan. These have been published for consultation between 8 July and 19th August 2019.

  • College Conservation Area Appraisal

    The Council has a duty to review, formulate and publish Appraisals for the preservation and enhancement of the Borough’s 12 Conservation Areas. The College Conservation Area Appraisal sets out the special interest of the area and reviews the boundary of the existing Conservation Area. Consultation on the College Conservation Area Appraisal will be carried out over the period from 14th February to 28th March 2019.
