Consultation on Main Modifications

Lewes District Council is inviting you to comment on the Main Modifications on Local Plan Part 2, including the accompanying   Addendum to the Sustainability Appraisal.  The Main Modifications follow two weeks of Hearings between the Inspector, Lewes District Council and invited participants.  The Inspector has considered all written and verbal representations made and recommended that the Council publish a Schedule of Main Modifications for public consultation.

The proposed Main Modifications were considered by Officers and then incorporated into the Plan.  In addition, an addendum to the Sustainability Appraisal has been produced which assesses the modifications.  The Main Modifications, including Addendum to the Sustainability Appraisal, were approved for consultation at 1 July Cabinet meeting.  

The two documents are being published for consultation with the local community and other interested parties between 8 July and midnight 19 August 2019.  This is a focussed consultation on the Main Modifications put forward by the Inspector, comments should therefore concentrate on these points.  It is not an opportunity to re-open discussions on matters which the Inspector has not raised.

Both consultation documents can be accessed below, or paper copies are available to read at the District Council offices at Southover House, Southover Road, Lewes, BN7 1AB and at local libraries, including Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Saltdean and Uckfield.

A 'track changes' version of the Local Plan Part 2 Submission Document incorporating the proposed Main Modifications has been produced for illustrative purposes only.
