Lewes District Local Plan - Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report

Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report

A Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the new Local Plan has been published alongside the Issues and Options document.

The Scoping Report sets the scope of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) for the Lewes District Local Plan. The council is required by law to produce a Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for all its local plan documents. The Scoping Report is the first stage of the sustainability appraisal process and sets the context and scope of the SA in accordance with best practice guidance.

The purpose of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is to ensure that sustainable development has been integrated in the formulation of development plans and to verify that due consideration has been given to social, economic and environmental factors.
