Lewes District Council CIL Bidding Expression Of Interest 2020

Lewes District Council CIL Expressions of Interest 2020

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Regulations allow local authorities in England and Wales to raise funds from developers who are undertaking new building projects. The purpose is to help fund the provision of infrastructure needed to support development in their area.

The Lewes District Council CIL Charging Schedule has been implemented in the areas of the district that lie outside the South Downs National Park since 1 December 2015. By becoming a Charging Authority, the Council also has the responsibility for ensuring infrastructure is delivered to support the growth in the district.

When we receive money raised from CIL, 5% is allocated to administrative costs and 15% must be passed to Town and Parish Councils (this rises to 25% in areas with an adopted neighbourhood plan). We are inviting for Expressions of Interest for funding from the remaining CIL Income.

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19 and until such time there is equal opportunity for providers to submit an Expression of Interest if desired the LDC CIL Bidding Round for 2020 is postponed.

This Expressions of Interest Round will be open for the foreseeable future and once the CIL Bidding Round is Confirmed there will be a 4 week notice period for EOI'S to be submitted for the round closes.

Infrastructure Providers that have submitted an Expression of Interest that satisfies the basic criteria will then be invited to submit a formal bid in the LDC Bidding Round. Providers who are not invited to make a further bid will be provided feedback and guidance as to why their EOI was not successful.

If you do have any queries or would like assistance in completing the EOI Form please do not hesitate to contact us at CIL.Lewes@Lewes-Eastbourne.gov.uk or call 01273 471600 and ask to speak to a member of the Planning Policy CIL Team.
